Some of the most common frequently asked questions for our service:

What is the process for migrating or adding/adopting new devices?

For adopting devices on your new remote controller, please visit the guide we provide. For migrating sites please follow this guide (coming sept 2024)

Does the Unifi Mobile app work with your illumii?

Absolutely! Our service works well with the Unifi app on both iOS and Android devices.

Can I change my server location?

Yes, absolutely! We are finalising the option to change your servers cloud region from within your account area on our platform. We now offer 10 cloud regions spanning across the USA, Canada and Europe.

Can I use my own domain name?

Yes! We enable you to choose your own sub-domain name meaning your url will be prefixed like this: yoursubdomain.illumii.io. In our roadmap we will soon be enabling the use of and full domain names for our pro plan members. Our estimate for this to be available is October 2024.

Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan easily?

Yes, you can upgrade your plan from standard or downgrade from pro at any time, just visit the 'manage account' section from the dashboard in your Illumii account. Your server will be temporarily offline whilst we make the change (approx. 5 minutes). No connected Unifi devices will be impacted during this server transition.

Are there limits on the number of sites per controller?

No, we do not limit the number of sites that you set up on your controller, the server that you pay for is suitable for a maximum number of Unifi devices available on the plan you chose, i.e up to 250 on Standard and up to 1000 on Pro.

Can I integrate Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) with Illumii?

Yes! we take security seriously at Illumii, and thats why we provide this additional layer of security to protect access to your Illumii account. This process is very easy to set up. We also strongly recommmend setting up MFA with your unifi.ui.com account too.

How do you keep the Controllers secure?

On top of the regular updates we carry out to the servers, we apply an intrusion prevention service which limits multiple attempted login attempts and blocks the offending IP addresses for a period of time. We also apply firewall rules across our Web Application Firewall service that we use from both AWS and Cloudflare. We offer guidance on you setting up the MFA for your Unifi controller, (this is completed at unifi.ui.com with your Unifi account). MFA is also strongly recommmended to be set up on your illumii account.

Can I have a trial if i've had one before?

Unfortunately we're unable to offer a second 7 day trial if you've already recieved one within the last 12 months. With this scenario we'll offer you a 1 day trial.
